Privacy Policy
Last updated: July 3, 2026
This policy explains what data pip. (“pip.”, “we”, “us”) collects when you add our Discord bot to a server or use our dashboard, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We collect only what we need to run the service.
Who this applies to
pip. is a Discord bot and web dashboard for Discord communities. This policy covers server administrators who install and configure pip., and members of servers where pip. is active. By adding pip. to a server or signing in to the dashboard, you agree to this policy.
What we collect
pip. operates on data made available to it through Discord. We store the minimum needed to provide features, and we do not sell your data to anyone.
Discord identifiers
- Server (guild), user, role, channel, and message IDs
- Server and account names, avatars, and membership as exposed by Discord
Configuration you provide
- Per-server settings you set in the dashboard or via commands — channels, roles, feature toggles, and automation rules
- Custom content you create, such as custom commands, welcome messages, role panels, and quotes
Activity and feature data
- Leveling data — XP, message counts, and ranks used for leaderboards and rank cards
- Moderation records — warnings, timeouts, bans, and other mod actions logged for your server's audit history
- Game and engagement state — e.g. counting progress, word-chain state, and plugin data for features you enable
Message and voice content
Some features process message content to work — for example spam detection, automod (banned words, invite and link filtering), counting, and word games. This processing is transient: we evaluate the message and do not retain message content beyond what a feature requires (for example, storing a quote you explicitly ask pip. to save). If you enable the Voice Transcription add-on, audio from voice channels is processed into text so it can be transcribed; this only happens for servers that turn the feature on.
Billing information
Paid plans are handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers, your plan status, and the email address you provide at checkout so we can send billing notices. We never receive or store full card numbers — Stripe processes payment details directly.
Diagnostics and analytics
- Aggregate usage metrics (which features and commands are used, how often) to understand and improve the product
- Error and performance diagnostics when something goes wrong, so we can fix it
How we use your data
- To provide, configure, and operate the features you enable
- To process payments and manage subscriptions
- To send service and billing communications (for example, a failed-payment notice)
- To monitor reliability, debug issues, and improve the product
- To keep servers safe — moderation, anti-spam, anti-raid, and anti-nuke protections
We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use your data for third-party advertising.
Service providers we share with
We share data with a small set of processors strictly to run the service. Each handles data on our behalf under their own terms.
| Provider | Purpose |
|---|---|
| Discord | The platform pip. runs on; source of the data pip. acts upon |
| Stripe | Payment processing and subscription management |
| Resend | Transactional email (billing and service notices) |
| Railway & Vercel | Hosting and infrastructure |
| Upstash | Caching, rate-limiting, and short-lived state |
| Sentry | Error and performance monitoring |
| PostHog | Product analytics (feature usage) |
We may also disclose data if required by law, to enforce our Terms of Service, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of pip., our users, or the public.
Data retention
We keep configuration, leveling, moderation, and feature data for as long as pip. is in your server so the features keep working. If pip. is removed from a server, or you request deletion, we delete the associated data within a reasonable period, except where we must retain limited records (such as billing history) to meet legal or accounting obligations. Transient message content is not retained beyond processing.
Your choices and rights
- Remove pip. from a server at any time to stop further data collection for that server
- Adjust or disable features from the dashboard to limit what is processed
- Request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data by contacting us
- Manage or cancel a paid subscription from the dashboard billing portal
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the GDPR or CCPA. To exercise any of these rights, email us at support@getpip.bot.
Children
pip. is not directed to children under 13, and you must meet Discord's minimum age requirement to use it. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under that age. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including access controls and encryption in transit. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to keep your data safe and to respond quickly if something goes wrong.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as pip. evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of pip. after a change means you accept the updated policy.
